° Chianti countryside - Wine Tour to Verrazzano Castle

Chianti is the first name that comes to mind when talking of wine in Tuscany. Situated between Florence and Siena, the Chianti region offers a rare and breathtaking example of how it's possible to cultivate land in complete harmony with nature. Wherever you cast your eyes, vineyards, olive orchards and cypress trees are blended into the surrounding woodland with the same aesthetic sense of a renaissance painting and will take you to discover one of the most extraordinary wines in this area. You will visit a splendid Castle where 1485 Giovanni da Verrazzano, who is credited with the discovery of the New York bay was born. It is for this discovery that the famous suspension bridge was named. As you take a guided tour of the grounds you will find lovely gardens as well as the range wild boar. The visit includes a tour of the magnificent cellars wine tasting and lunch featuring products produced on the estate. (Verazzano Rosso, IGT, Chianti Classico DOCG, Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Supertuscan and Vin Santo) with a combination of gastronomical specialties: prosciutto,salame, finocchiona(fennel seed salame), fettunta (garlic bread with extra virgin olive oil, wild boar salame, a daily special with salad and beans, pecorino( sheep cheese), parmigiano with balsamic vinegar and almond cookies.
Later,after this amazing Tuscan feast you will visit San Gimignano and arrive at the 14 towers of this walled town which look like a medieval Manhattan. In San Gimignano you can soak up the ancient atmosphere, enjoy small local shops ( the ceramics of Santa Fina, the famous Vernaccia white wine,saffron,hand made works) and marvel at the spectacular view. Castles, wine, villages, views and delicious Tuscan food await you!
